Church Casts Out Homosexual Demons? Another Crazy Christian Moment

2009 June 25

From MSNBC

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. – The video shows the 16-year-old boy lying on the floor, his body convulsing, as elders of a small Connecticut church cast a “homosexual demon” from his body.

“Rip it from his throat!” a woman yells. “Come on, you homosexual demon! You homosexual spirit, we call you out right now! Loose your grip, Lucifer!”

The 20-minute video posted on YouTube by Manifested Glory Ministries is being called abuse by gay and youth advocates, who are demanding an investigation. But a church official this week denied that the teenager was injured or that the church is prejudiced.

Another crazy Christian moment in history.

    That poor kid…

Sometimes I can’t help but think these types of people don’t actually think they are “casting out a demon” but rather they are just trying to scare the gay out of these kids.

it’s just another form of Christian terrorism and torture. Sadly, many of them really do believe in demons in this way.

Who wants to bet that the pastor is a closet case? The religious homophobes are usually just trying to exorcise their own personal demons.

This ritual of their certainly can rise to the level of terrorism and torture when violently perpetrated against an unwilling victim. Of course, the media wouldn’t dare call out something so Christian.

I don’t understand why this was even in the national news. If it was something of importance I could see it being there. If it had been a report where they were exposing this for what it was, I would say it should be in the news.

These asshat deluded, irrational and dangerous religionists belong in jail. Either that or a straight-jacket in a mental institution.

It was in the news because someone at that gathering filmed it and posted it to the Web, where it went viral with so many people appalled at such things. MSNBC reported this afternoon that it was being investigated by local authorities.

Where’s kyson? He should be all over this. As for me, I think Stephen Colbert put it best: now that they’ve exorcised the gay demon, it’s on the prowl looking for a new host!

Also, I’m shocked. This seems like more of a Tennessee kind of thing, but Connecticut? Who knew?
