The origin of human morality and burden of proof seem to be the main topics in this discussion.
* From where or how did human morals come into being?
* Who should bear the responsibility of providing proof for the existence or non-existence of supernatural beings or gods?
* If I claim that an invisible being talks to me, should I expect others to believe me?

I always felt sorry for Joy being on the View. She seems a much more rational person, and I was glad to hear this sort of debate is actually allowed on TV now. (Yes, that was snark at the creeping theocracy of the Bush era.
)
One can only hope that with the release of movies like this one, some of the less brainwashed, and more intelligent Xtains might even start seeing, just how asinine, not only their belief IS; but just how asinine and ignorant, all beliefs rooted in the supernatural are!
Christopher Hitchens is Brilliant! I’ve always loved his Smart + Witty Writing in Vanity Fair. + his book god is not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything is Bang on!!
The one thing that really annoyed me about what Pastor Wilson said and for me, hurt his argument, was that elements of the Ten Commandments are not self-evident. You mean to tell me that I need a Commandment that says not to murder otherwise I’d kill whomever I wanted? That makes no sense, like Joy pointed out. People didn’t murder randomly before the Ten Commandments were invented, they knew that was something you shouldn’t do. Pastor Wilson, though he doesn’t out right admit it, also believes in talking snakes and that all of the animals in the world existed within walking distance of Noah’s Ark. I tried to take him seriously, but he just wouldn’t give me a reason to. I applaud CNN and Joy Behar for having a debate like this on TV that wasn’t just a shouting match. Hopefully more TV stations will be more open minded and all for debates like this to continue.
I have the book version of the debates, and I have to say that in every chapter that Wilson writes I swear I could feel my IQ dropping 10 points. I reject the claim that the existence of god is self-evident. This is a lame and lazy dodge. The claim is that some deity created everything, then the null hypothesis is the position that no deities exist. Logic 101. Saying the claim that a deity exists because it is self-evident does not make it so. It’s a totally intellectually dishonest road to take.
Right on, Hitchens! Dayum! Way to get some words in on Fox News! That went better than I ever would have expected with Hannity.
