He’s one of the two comedians that I think of when something goes crazy in the world. I wonder what would Bill Hicks/George Carlin have said about all this. I miss them both.
I get that he’s trying to be funny, but life is “scared” in a sense. This is the only chance at doing anything, that we are ever gonna get and it only lasts 70ish years.
I wouldn’t call it “scared”, but it is pretty damned important.
I really wish I could’ve caught him when he came through town just before he died. I’ve been listening to GC since I was too young to ‘hear such things’ (according to my very xtian grandparents).
This is so ironic. I attend Hillsdale College, which some of you might know as one of the most conservative private colleges in the country. Being an atheist, I don’t fit in very well at school. I recently attended a speech by a visitor to the college…the topic being “A Lawyers Defense of the Christian Faith.” I actually went to see how many counter-arguments I could come up with in one hour. haha. The whole time I was sitting there pondering the ridiculous events in the bible such as talking snakes and the like. Good Ol’ George shares the same opinion, I just wish I could be that funny and see my fellow classmates’ reactions!
Great great post! George was for sure a lost to the world…
One night I was watching him doing a skit that brought him to a point where he described being in a closet…farting (tee hee) and how you liked the smell of your own farts or something like that. I hear my son who was probably 12-13 at the time, I hear him, behind me crackin’ the hell up! I don’t know how long he had been there watching George Carlin behind me, but he appeared to be very wrapped up in watching, and then just couldn’t contain himself at that particular line of hilarity!
I alway use George as an example of someone I refuse to believe is in a place called hell. “Yeah right and George Carlin is in hell crackin’ everybody up”!
"The American brand of Christianity is unraveling while its hypocrisy is being weighed by the minds of our younger folks and discovering that questioning religious doctrine is a trait of human nature, not the voice of Satan."

I miss George. He can always make me laugh.
His Mad TV “Touched by an Atheist” skit totally rocked my world.
To this day, I am shocked by the “openness” in that skit. He made the others look like total idiots.
My favorite George skit is the classic Religion is Bullshit from his You Are All Diseased show. Ah, fond memories.
Another great one by George!

… Life is scared of what? (Thriller zombies are now dancing in my head…)

A George Carlin clip is always worth seeing. Thanks for posting it.
George was always my favorite comedian.
